Our mission to improve the brand and image of East St. Louis.
Our vision is to:
invoke a sense of pride in current and former residents;
change the minds of those who believe negative myths about East St. Louis;
inspire interest in learning more about our people and community; and
attract new residents, businesses, investors, and developers to the city.
I Am East St. Louis, The Foundation will offer programming in three core areas:
1. The Corporation will produce publications that educate the East St. Louis community and general public and present a positive media image of East St. Louis and East St. Louisans.
As Foundation, we will:
- Publish I Am East St. Louis, The Magazine
2. The Corporation will present speaker series, panel discussions and lectures to educate the East St. Louis community and general public and showcase influential East St. Louisans.
As Foundation, we will:
- Pursue a Speaker Series in partnership with a local university
3. The Corporation will create opportunities to enhance knowledge of East St. Louis cultural assets and combat community deterioration.
As Foundation, we will:
- Partner to educate the public on our cultural assets
- Commission original interactive public art projects
- Present annual service award
